Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AiDocScan ("AiDocScan," "we," "us," or "our") is a document scanning and text-extraction (OCR) app for Android, developed by IdeaGrow. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the AiDocScan Android app (package name com.aidocscan) and this website.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information (if you sign in)

AiDocScan works fully offline without an account. If you choose to create an account, we use Firebase Authentication (provided by Google) to manage sign-in, and collect:

• First name and last name
• Email address
• Gender (as selected by you)
• Mobile number (optional)
• Password — this is never stored or seen by us in readable form; it is handled and securely hashed by Firebase Authentication

This account information is used solely to identify you when you sign in and to personalize your experience within the app. It is not connected to your documents or extracted text in any way, and is never shared with advertisers.

2.2 Your documents and extracted text

This is the core of the app, and the most important part of this policy: photos, PDFs, and other documents you scan or import, along with the text AiDocScan extracts from them, are processed and stored entirely on your device. AiDocScan does not upload, transmit, back up, or otherwise send your documents or extracted text to us, to Firebase, to Google, or to any other server. We simply have no access to this content. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage permanently removes it, since no copy exists anywhere else.

2.3 Crash and diagnostic data

We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect crash reports if the app encounters an error, so we can find and fix bugs. This may include: a stack trace of the error, the app version, your device model and manufacturer, Android OS version, and a randomly generated installation identifier. Crash reports do not include your documents, extracted text, or account password.

2.4 Advertising data

AiDocScan shows ads through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK) to keep the app free to use. We configure AdMob to request non-personalized ads only — meaning ads are not selected based on an advertising profile built from your activity. To deliver, measure, and protect against fraud on even non-personalized ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may still process technical information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, general device information, and app interaction events (e.g., an ad was shown, clicked, or a rewarded ad was completed). This processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. We do not control or have access to the data Google's ad systems collect beyond aggregate, anonymized performance reporting.

2.5 Information we do not collect

• We do not collect or have access to the content of your documents or extracted text.
• We do not use analytics tracking (e.g., Firebase Analytics) in AiDocScan.
• We do not sell your personal information to anyone, under any circumstances.

4. Third-party services we use

AiDocScan relies on the following third-party service providers, each acting under their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Authentication (Google) — account sign-in. See Firebase's Privacy and Security.
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash reporting. See Firebase's Privacy and Security.
• Google AdMob (Google) — non-personalized advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not share your account information with these providers beyond what is technically required for them to operate. None of them ever receive your documents or extracted text.

5. Data retention

Your documents and extracted text are retained only on your device, for as long as you keep them in the app — you can delete individual items at any time from the History screen, or remove everything by uninstalling the app. Account information is retained until you request deletion (see below). Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics per Google's standard retention periods.

6. Your rights and choices

• Access & correction: You can view and edit your account details from within the app's Settings screen.
• Deletion: You can delete individual documents at any time from History. To delete your account entirely, see our Account & Data Deletion page.
• Ad personalization: AiDocScan already requests non-personalized ads only. You can further manage ad personalization at the device level under Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

7. Children's privacy

AiDocScan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can remove it.

8. International data transfers

Firebase and Google AdMob may process the limited data described above on servers located outside your country of residence, in accordance with their own privacy and data-protection commitments.

9. Security

Account data is stored and managed by Firebase Authentication, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Your documents and extracted text never leave your device, which removes an entire class of transmission and server-side risk by design.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
